Modern Medical

Vasculitis is inflammation of the blood vessels, which can cause their walls to thicken, weaken or narrow and so reduce blood flow to tissues and organs. Symptoms depend on which vessels are affected and may include fever, tiredness, skin rashes, joint pain, numbness or kidney problems. It is often autoimmune and is diagnosed with blood tests, imaging and sometimes a biopsy.
