Localised Vasti
Kati Vasti
Also known as Kati Vasti, Lumbar Oil Pooling
Warm medicated oil retained over the lumbar spine in a dough dam — a signature therapy for lower-back conditions.
Whether this therapy is right for you is a physician's decision
About Kati Vasti
Kati Vasti is a localised Vasti therapy where warm medicated oil is pooled over the lumbar spine within a sealed dough ring. The sustained heat and absorption of medicated oil into the lumbar region makes it particularly useful for disc-related pain, spondylolisthesis, sacroiliitis, and chronic lumbar spondylosis — once acute inflammation has been settled.
When Kati Vasti may — and may not — be appropriate
May be appropriate for
- Lumbar disc prolapse (outside acute flare)
- Chronic lumbar spondylosis
- Sciatica (in appropriate stages)
- Spondylolisthesis
- Chronic low-back pain
- Post-surgical spine recovery
When it should NOT be done
- Acute disc prolapse with active inflammation
- Acute sacroiliitis with marked inflammation
- Skin infections at the site
- Bleeding disorders (relative)
- Always a physician-judged call based on stage and current inflammation
The decision is always individualised by your treating physician.
What to Expect During Kati Vasti
Deeply relaxing local sensation; pain reduction often noticeable from day 3-5.
