Adenoiditis

Adenoiditis is inflammation of the adenoids, the small mass of tissue at the back of the nose, above the throat. It is common in children and usually follows a cold or throat infection. Typical signs are a blocked nose, breathing through the mouth, snoring, nasal-sounding speech and sometimes ear pain. A doctor diagnoses it from the symptoms and an examination of the nose and throat.
