AVN Arogya Ayurvedic Hospital

About AVN Arogya Healthcare

Founded in 1930 in Madurai, AVN Arogya has grown over 96 years and three generations of the Varier family — from a single Ayurvedic clinic into a NABH-accredited 100-bed hospital and one of the most respected Ayurvedic institutions in South India.

Our Heritage

AVN Arogya was established in 1930 in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, by the renowned Ayurvedic physician Arya Vaidyan N. Rama Varier, who trained at the Ayurveda Patasala in Kottakkal. His son-in-law and successor, Arya Vaidyan P.V. Raghava Varier — a scholar, author, and honorary physician to President Dr. S. Radhakrishnan — extended the practice to Chennai and set AVN on its path from a single clinic to a group of Ayurvedic organisations. Four generations of the Varier family have since preserved the classical Kerala Ayurvedic tradition that underpins every treatment we offer.

Today, AVN Arogya treats patients from across India and over 20 countries worldwide. Our clinical focus on musculoskeletal disorders — particularly Avascular Necrosis, disc prolapse, arthritis, and autoimmune conditions — has made us a referral centre for complex cases that have not responded to conventional treatment.
