Elakizhi
Also known as Patra Pinda Sweda, Herbal Leaf Bolus
Therapeutic massage with boluses of fresh medicinal leaves warmed in medicated oil — excellent for inflammatory-painful joint conditions.
Whether this therapy is right for you is a physician's decision
About Elakizhi
Elakizhi uses fresh medicinal leaves (Nirgundi, Eranda, Rasna, Arka) tied into cloth boluses, heated in medicated oil, and applied rhythmically to the affected area. It combines the anti-inflammatory properties of the leaves with heat therapy and mechanical pressure — highly effective for painful inflammatory joint conditions.
When Elakizhi may — and may not — be appropriate
May be appropriate for
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Osteoarthritis with stiffness
