Age-related degenerative changes in the spine including disc dehydration, bone spurs (osteophytes), and ligament thickening. Cervical spondylosis affects the neck; lumbar spondylosis affects the lower back.
Spondylosis
Modern MedicalSpondylosis is the general term for wear-and-tear changes in the spine that come with age, such as drying of the discs, bony spurs and thickened ligaments. Many people have it without symptoms, but it can cause stiffness, aching and sometimes pressure on nerves.
