Sinusitis
Modern MedicalSinusitis is inflammation of the sinuses, the air spaces in the bones around the nose, cheeks and forehead. When their drainage is blocked, mucus builds up, causing facial pain or pressure, a stuffy nose, thick discharge and sometimes headache or fever. It often follows a cold or allergy. Sinusitis lasting more than twelve weeks is called chronic sinusitis.
