Inflammation of the prostate gland, causing pelvic pain and urinary symptoms in men.
Prostatitis is inflammation of the prostate, a small gland below the bladder in men. It can cause pain in the pelvis, groin, lower back or between the legs, along with frequent or painful urination and difficulty passing urine. Some cases are due to bacterial infection, while longer-lasting forms often have no clear cause. Urine tests and examination help diagnosis.
