Abnormally low blood sugar, causing shakiness, sweating, confusion and weakness.
Hypoglycaemia is abnormally low blood sugar. It causes shakiness, sweating, a racing heart, hunger, confusion and weakness, and if severe can lead to fainting or seizures. It most often affects people taking insulin or certain diabetes tablets, especially after missing a meal or exercising more than usual. A finger-prick glucose test confirms it, and it needs prompt treatment with sugar.
