Inflammation of the epididymis, the tube behind the testicle, causing scrotal pain and swelling.
Epididymitis
Modern MedicalEpididymitis is inflammation of the epididymis, the coiled tube at the back of the testicle that stores and carries sperm. It causes pain, swelling and tenderness in the scrotum, usually on one side, sometimes with fever or pain on passing urine. It is often caused by a bacterial infection. Sudden severe testicular pain should be checked urgently to rule out torsion.
