Dacryocystitis
Modern MedicalDacryocystitis is inflammation or infection of the tear sac, the small pouch at the inner corner of the eye that drains tears into the nose. It usually happens when the tear duct is blocked. The area beside the nose becomes painful, red and swollen, the eye waters constantly and pus may appear. It occurs most often in newborn babies and in older adults.
