Inflammation of the bladder, usually from infection, causing burning and frequent urination.
Cystitis is inflammation of the bladder, most often caused by a bacterial urinary tract infection. It causes a burning or stinging feeling when passing urine, needing to pass urine often and urgently, cloudy or strong-smelling urine, and lower abdominal discomfort. It is more common in women. A urine test confirms infection; fever or back pain may mean the kidneys are involved.
