About Lepanam

A non-sudific external application categorized under Bhirparimarjana (external treatments). It is removed strictly before it dries completely to prevent localized skin irritation and to preserve therapeutic efficacy.

When Lepanam may — and may not — be appropriate

May be appropriate for

  • Gouty arthritis (Vatarakta), localized inflammatory swelling, acne, skin diseases, and localized pain.

When it should NOT be done

  • Application during the night, applying over completely dried up previous layers, and hypersensitivity to specific raw herbs.

The decision is always individualised by your treating physician.

What to Expect During Lepanam

A localized cooling or warming sensation depending on the herbs used, reduction in throbbing pain, and minimization of surface swelling.
