Controlled medical emesis to eliminate Kapha-dominant toxins from the upper GI tract — indicated in specific respiratory, skin, and metabolic conditions.
Whether this therapy is right for you is a physician's decision
About Vamanam
Vamana is one of the five classical Panchakarma procedures, involving supervised therapeutic vomiting after preparation. It is not a general 'detox' — it is a targeted clinical intervention for Kapha-dominant disorders where eliminating toxins from the stomach and respiratory tract produces a real clinical change.
When Vamanam may — and may not — be appropriate
May be appropriate for
- Chronic bronchial asthma
- Chronic skin conditions with Kapha predominance
- Certain metabolic-syndrome presentations
- Refractory allergic rhinitis and chronic sinusitis
When it should NOT be done
- Debility, recent surgery, severe hypertension, cardiac conditions, pregnancy, children, elderly
- Any Vata- or Pitta-predominant disorder
The decision is always individualised by your treating physician.
What to Expect During Vamanam
Medically supervised in our IP unit. Patients are closely monitored before, during, and after. Not uncomfortable when done correctly by skilled physicians.
