Considered the most powerful of the four Murdfha Tailas (head oil therapies), Shirovasti directly targets the brain tissues and cranial nerves via prolonged epidermal absorption.

When Shirovasti may — and may not — be appropriate

May be appropriate for

  • Facial paralysis, severe cranial nerve disorders, chronic migraines, optic atrophy, and stubborn insomnia.

When it should NOT be done

  • Coryza (acute runny nose), severe cough, fever, pediatric patients under 7, and scalp lesions.
