My name is Shanthi Nikethini. I live at Chittikulam in Madurai. I am a retired teacher. For some time, for 7 or 8 years, I had pain in the back of the neck and the shoulder. Because of gripping hard with this arm while going on the bike, it had come down somewhat. Managing with that, I went to a nearby orthopaedic and took medicines and tablets and did exercises and then all that therapy. Even so it did not cure. From time to time the pain would suddenly come. And then the tablets gave side effects, the ulcer and all of that. Thinking about all that, my inner sense told me that it would be good if I went to Ayurveda. Then, when I enquired and looked on the net, I got the information about this. Many times, when I went to the Tirupparankundram temple, I had seen this building. It looks good, this appearance. I used to wonder what there was here, and in the end the circumstances came about for me to join there. Then I consulted the doctor. They said that if I took ten days of treatment here it would be good. I said all right, took an economy room suited to my finances, and stayed here. Staying about nine days, it worked out for me and I had a good improvement step by step. Even these two fingers had a kind of numbness for me. Now, after coming here and having the massage, then this oil bath. And then that medicated flour bath, they did all of it. All of it is good. And the food, the lunch and all of it, is a mild, restricted diet. That is, what is a restricted diet? They gave it as food that does no harm to our stomachs. And the young people, all the little ones, attended to everything well and behaved very kindly and softly. I was in a nicely gentle setting. It was rather better here than being at home. But since I had no work to do, the time hung a little heavy and I was bored. Otherwise the older women were all very experienced. They did it very skilfully. And thenthe younger ones did the massage suited to their stage. When I first came and consulted here, it was Sridevi madam that I saw. She gave good ideas and said that if I stayed 10 days it would come right. All right, I waited, and as soon as that room was available I joined here. She too came daily in the evening and asked well how it had recovered and what percentage of improvement I had. Likewise the assistant doctor madam — what was your name? — she attended well too. So I had a good improvement both mentally and physically. And the service here is good too. But the food, the dosai and so on, they pour rather thick. It would be good if that were a bit softer. Otherwise there is nothing much to complain of. Because however much one does, there are bound to be some small shortcomings. Putting up with that is our life. So eighty per cent is very good. I was reasonably satisfied. For things like this that do not come right with other treatments, bone-related things, you can come here and have it put right well. My stomach came right for me too. Because passing motion was not right, and there was a cramping pain, all of that was there. They gave the medicines for it and put that cramping pain right for me. So with complete satisfaction of heart I go home today.
