My name is R. Lenin Shankar. Actually, when I was working overseas, in Kuwait, while working my leg slipped slightly, a small tissue gave way, and after that it swelled up somewhat. After the swelling, when I went with them to hospital, they said it was a fracture and put a big cast on me. It was what they call a POP — they put it on like that in a mould. They did it very tightly. They kept the cast on for nearly 40 days. Even after the forty days, when they called me back, I could not walk properly. Because the muscle had been compressed and the blood supply was very poor. There was no sensation at all. So I struggled a great deal, even on the flight. I came in a wheelchair. As soon as I landed at the airport, all my family came — my wife and my son came, and as soon as they saw my condition they brought me straight to Madurai. How I came to know of this hospital, AVN Arogya Ayurvedic Hospital: my son studies allopathic medicine in Chennai. He is doing MBBS. A classmate of his, a girl called Aishwarya, is from Kerala. That girl had finished four years of Ayurveda and then joined medicine, allopathy. While my son and that girl were talking, introducing themselves and asking where each was from, she asked. I said I had come to Madurai, and she asked about it. After that I asked my son about the Madurai side, and he said first that there is an Ayurvedic hospital like this and that it is very famous — and it was through my son that I came to know of this hospital. But Kovilpatti is nearest to me. So that is how little they advertise. They give good treatment to each person like this. Those people tell others. Many people may come on that word. Now, whether they do anything on a big multi-channel television or anywhere else, I do not know. Now I myself did not know. If anyone has any problem, tell them to come tomorrow, they give good treatment. Now the doctor I had isMr. Biju. He is very good; he is a good guide. Whatever it is, he asks exactly the right thing. He said, if there is any other problem at all, call me at once, you can call however you like — and gave good encouragement. So, after I came here — I came in a wheelchair. I could not walk at all. I came with my arm over someone's shoulder. Now I can. Because I could not walk on my own at all. So to that extent, the Ayurvedic treatment here has been good for me: they do a massage in the morning and a massage in the evening, and likewise a physio session in the morning and one in the evening, physiotherapy. That is very useful. I have even asked about some things; when a piece of physiotherapy equipment was needed, they ordered it and have called for it for tomorrow. So this is a good hospital. There is good treatment and everything. There is a quality department. Next there is a housekeeping department. And a pharmacy department, and the therapists who do the massage — there is a separate one — and all of them cooperate well. Every day exactly at nine and at seven we have to go. So they ask clearly whether anything is uncomfortable before they leave. If you mention something they say tell us at once, and they will resolve it within half an hour. So that is how good the cooperation is. I am satisfied. I was never someone who said one must believe in Ayurveda. I did not do allopathy. Today I am doing Ayurveda, Ayurvedic treatment, completely. Because it has been about five days for me. They took a video of how I was when I came. Now they have taken a video of me walking. So do certainly do this.
