Snehapana

Also known as Internal Oleation Therapy

Graduated oral consumption of warm medicated ghee on an empty stomach to lubricate tissues and prepare the body for deep detoxification.

Whether this therapy is right for you is a physician's decision

Snehapana

About Snehapana

A foundational internal lubrication process designed to saturate body tissues with medicated lipids, loosening deep-seated toxins and moving them to the digestive tract for elimination.

When Snehapana may — and may not — be appropriate

May be appropriate for

  • Chronic skin disorders (psoriasis), osteoarthritis, preparatory phase for Panchakarma detoxification, chronic constipation.

When it should NOT be done

  • Indigestion, acute fever, high cholesterol levels, acute liver disorders, and low metabolic fire (Mandagni).

The decision is always individualised by your treating physician.

What to Expect During Snehapana

Temporary loss of appetite, a heavy feeling in the stomach, burps reflecting the smell of ghee, followed by highly softened skin and improved internal lightness once digested.
