About Mashaadi Kizhi

Black gram is prized in Ayurveda for its potent Vata-nutritive and muscle-rebuilding (Brimhana) properties. This treatment strengthens degenerated motor and sensory nerves.

When Mashaadi Kizhi may — and may not — be appropriate

May be appropriate for

  • Facial palsy, brachial plexus injury, hemiplegia, muscle atrophy, lumbar radiculopathy, and nerve debility.

When it should NOT be done

  • Acute joint swelling with redness, active skin rashes, high Kapha congestion, and acute fever.

The decision is always individualised by your treating physician.

What to Expect During Mashaadi Kizhi

Soothing warmth, reduction in neural twitching or spasms, and gradual restoration of motor strength and sensation.
