I've been living in Africa for the last 20 years. Personally I'm in Nigeria. And almost last month, one month, five weeks back I had a small... Injury, you can call it as injury of some nature. I slipped off from platform and had a small minor injury at my back. After that I didn't have much issues and I was quite normal for couple of weeks. Then suddenly my lower back started when I was in Nigeria. But it was bearable. Within a week it shooted to very high level. So I had to come back to India to treat it. When I reached India, the pain was a little bit... people were suspecting it could be an abdominal related some issues. So I went to an allopathy. We went to a regular abdomen scan and all that, suspecting some abdominal problems. Eventually they said everything is normal. It could be ortho-related. So, I was being diverted to an ortho to have a view on it. I only had a discussion with the ortho in Virudhanagar. During that time pain was bearable, so I didn't take it much serious. So when I had some visit to Bangalore, I reached Bangalores and the pain went so peak. So I needed an instant treatment on it. Initially actually first thing I approached was to Banglore Apollo and had some basic investigations were done on it. But I didn't go for a wedding because Bangalore is quite new for me and it's a strange place, I'm not having better contacts so I had to move back to Chennai where I have some relatives and brothers. In Chennai when I came in I was admitted in the hospital for almost three days. They did an intensive scan, X-ray, MRI all that they did a complete thing and they concluded that on my lower back or something like L3, L4 some disc which had not much but some disc has been collapsed and some nerve has been compressed so they come to a conclusion and they said if you need real permanent solution I have to go for an operation otherwise only temporary some painkillers can be done It will not cure me. That's what they concluded. The pain was so intensive, I had to make a decision on where to go. But the narration that they gave after the operation, what my life ought to be, it was quite scaring. There were a lot of conditions in which my entire lifestyle has been ruined. Which is quite difficult for me too. change my career and profession. I was told to go for retirement, so then I had to think twice what to be done. So they gave me... They said I have to decide within four days otherwise the compression is so high because on the second day when I was in hospital, the back pain went to so severe to left, then my urinary system started not collapsing but damages started creating on that also. So doctor said the compressed nerve was very critical i can even lost my sense in urinary system something like that so they gave four days to decide to go for operation otherwise it could be an uh complicated surgery something they said so then i was discussing with my other friends others what else would be a remedy for it i had one of he's a doctor but he practices this so he suggested better you go come down to Madurai there is a center avian where they have lot of professional Ayurvedic so then with this advice I couldn't travel and I cannot even walk in fact the stage within three days in Chennai hospital but they didn't treat me, they gave only the pain killers injections in fact medicine was not controlling, so they had to give injections to control my pain. So I just couldn't travel by train or flight, so I came by car or something. I reached here, to the avian. By the time when I reached to the Avian, I couldn't even step out of my car. These people literally carried me to the doctor. One doctor called Biju was there. They only carried and put me in his room. The pain was so serious. So he examined my MRI and I examined myself. But he was very precise and he said, look we understood your seriousness but for this we need at least 10 days admission on our thing. Then continuing 10 days absolute bed rest at your house. So these 20 days if you can permit to stay in India you can admit here otherwise we cannot help you anything. That particular time my travel date was within a week. So I told him, so sorry, I have only seven days, do whatever it is. He said, sorry, we cannot do anything on it. We need the curation time. So this 20 days we can accept, we can cure you and we can make you to walk from this place. Otherwise please don't take any chance with us. The pain was so serious so I had to there's no other choice for me. So how to accept because I couldn't even take one step So I said okay, I'm accepting for that. Please start the treatment. I think it was around, when I reached there was around evening, six o'clock or something. But immediately they went into action. By 7-7.30 started my treatment and examined. The same day, within one hour they started their intensive treatments. And I do, I also cooperated. But I remember, I can recall now, he said first three days You can continue the painkiller and whatever which was given from Chennai, only for night. On the fourth day you have to stop that. And the pain will be reduced to that level. Then on the fifth day you can walk out to your room. That's what he said before I admitted. But the pain was so much even I was not able to listen properly to him. But how surprising it happened on the same day. In the same manner it happened? For three days I could not sleep, up to night 3 o'clock. Even with that tablet, sleeping pills and painkillers given by the Chennai yellow doctors, it would take at least 3.30 or 4 o' clock I used to sleep without my conscience. The fourth day morning I was asking a doctor, shall I continue the sleeping? He said no, all day I told you, you don't need. I said how can I sleep? He says let us see tomorrow but you should not take this. I thought okay fine. It surprised me for the fourth day In fact, I slept around 11.30-12, without the painkiller and without sleeping. I slept with little inconvenience but I slept on the fourth day. On the fifth day, till that for the therapist, they used to literally hang me on their shoulder to walk to the therapy room. But on the forth day, I walked, okay, with the support, but I walked. The therapy, they hold me but holding their hand, I was able to walk. Just for a few distance. On fifth day, I reached the therapy room with small assistance. So it means they know what they are doing. That's what I felt these people knows what they're doing to us before they start the treatment. It was little bit very much impressed on me because after fifth day I was very bit comfortable. Pain was relieved. bearable and i'm able to even walk little and that so then it went as he said 10th day i was almost walking the whole corridor i believe almost the whole quarter i was able to walk with a little slow but i was you were able to work by yourself without without anyone's support just low okay at least i can say almost 50 60 meters i was And he said, even I can walk more. But the doctor was insisting, please don't stress yourself because you are under the process. So we had to give some sufficient time for the muscles and nerves to set itself. But I used to walk up to 50 meters without any much stress. But since he insisted not to take chance, so I was sitting. That's what it was. The 10th day looks like very okay. But that's the day he asked me, for 10 days then I told him see I had to go all the way for that so let me make sure that I'm ready he said okay you stay for another four days so we'll do further some completion of the treatment so that you can stay for long without much any disturbances provided I follow their instructions properly that's what he underlined there and I said okay I accepted 14 days I completed 14 days Absolutely back to my normal. No pain, nothing. How was your experience during therapy time? Was it painful? The therapies here especially when I came to Hyderabad, I had some herd knowledge specifically I am not identified with someone but normally they say this is massage the whole body to the side. I was assuming that something like In a way I can say it's a cruel process, a traditional cruel process to bring it to a cure. That's what I was thinking all these years. But something is really just absolutely wrong information or maybe this place or what I don't know. Even the day one I was so painful I was taken to treatment. The therapist was so humble. They are doing very gentle and knowledgeable That's what I can say. It's not that they just keep squeezing our muscles, no, they're not doing it. They understand something and they're asking how is the pain? And they intervene us and giving some talks. Maybe along with this, they are doing the process. Pain was so much when I came but I accept. But during the first day therapy, okay, first day it was, I didn't even much, I'm not even in a consciousness I can see because of the pain was so miserable. But I can, I remember but still I was not much attentive to that. The second day I very much, you know, they are very gentle to us. Even the way they straightened my leg, because the leg was not able to straighten, it was like this. Gradually they made, but with a very gentle and systematic they did. I was really, I was surprised by the way the handled on even the painful time. It was so gentle, so it means wrong information which I had, I believe, or... Maybe some other centers are doing that, I don't know. But what I saw here was so gentle and so methodologically they're doing some things. And the surprising part was this. I remember every day here they have a system. Morning around 8-8.30, first some shift nurses come. They do their own BP, some checkup they do. Following to that, around 8, 8.30 the duty doctor comes and asks. The set of questionnaires they ask. How is today? What was the... A standard question they have. So I used to identify them, okay, today I have this pain and that. It will be around 8 and 8.30. Normally, around 10 o'clock they used to take me to therapist. So it means there's a two hours gap from this and this. When I used enter to the therapist room, the therapist used to ask me, so you had a pain at your knee from today morning, how, so show me what is it? So it It has been recorded in the chart something. It has passed to the senior doctor, maybe to my doctor who is responsible for me. Through him it has been sent to the therapist that this patient is having at this place a new brain. So I was shocked on hearing that. Within two hours, because I am seeing this place they have plenty of therapists. At least even to me a set of people have been treating to me. At least six or seven maybe therapists have been attending to me so it means around 15 or 20 therapists are there, minimum to me So in that group the person has been informed to that precisely this we are going to attend is having new pain at this knee at this level and that was very much impressed The other thing I was noticing one day around some course of time. There was a pain here in the neck, so I was telling my doctor and they were attending to it. The therapist told me okay. After doing their own thing, they asked me to sit and he was doing something here. So... And he was slightly urging me, so please sit in a comfortable position, I have to do it fast. And I asked why? He says no, no, our doctor has insisted you can sit only for five minutes. So within that five minutes, I have to complete the things what I had to do. So it means they are doing almost one hour thirty minutes therapy. So even that five minute has been informed by the doctor and concerned team to this therapist a time schedule has begun. That was surprising for me. I thought they're doing one hour 30 minutes as a schedule they're on their own I thought but it is not that way. It means there is some time schedule given to the therapist. It was a little okay, I'm not aware much of it but it happened. He said five minutes, please it's enough otherwise maybe something can happen, I don't know. So to me therapists will not have that deep knowledge of that level. So it means a doctor or someone in the senior level has given a proper communication to therapist. So the coordination is very high even sometimes I've been even into some other allopathic doctors because I'm quite old, you know. Different allopathy doctors in India or even abroad also. But this systematic coordination like okay doctors will be well they have their quality but nurses or attenders down the level they have very limited information. But here I found the system has been well formed patient is treated by a team of people. Doctor is there and therapist is there, nurse, shift doctor. So it means they are coordinating very carefully so that we get the best. Maybe that's why maybe they know this person will be 5th day he'll be like this 10th day, he'd be like these and 14 days. So they're determining in before. Yeah. So even I asked this question to Dr. Biju also how you are able to judge that 5th day, 7th day and 10th day she was laughing. He said you see every day we are seeing especially this hip and the spinal related patients are everyday we're seeing several cases and we hear from them also so we have been educated by the patient that's what he was telling me yeah so that's why we are able to precisely tell at this level it will go like that so now it was really I'm very much happy, you know. So I stayed here for 14 days. They already discharged me. In 14 days, I can go. So, I listened to them what all to be followed. So they said this 10 days is very crucial for the rest of my life how I have to go. so they told me this, I had to follow this. So then I was so comfortable here. So even I thought why should I go back to my house? I told doctor if he permit I can stay here as a guest for next 10 days so I can feel That's what we used to say. It's a home from home. It's not a hospital from home. Home to home experience you will get here. And how was your experience here ma'am? When I entered the first day, I was returning from Chennai. I told my father, you please stay with us, don't leave me alone. But when I entered here, I find the place is very... Lovely and immediately I felt so comfortable. So I told my father better you return home. Okay, I'll stay alone with my husband Okay, so when I came I literally come with the tears but It's the last day of our state now I am living with tears it's a tear in joy Good that's all the best man Please take care of your health sir. I brought very comfortable so I have to maintain this. We will say that tasty food won't be good for health.
