Mr. Jeeva came to AVN Arogya with cervical myelopathy - spinal-cord compression in the neck causing pain, numbness, weakness and difficulty walking - after only temporary relief from conventional methods. He followed a personalised plan of Panchakarma therapies, herbal Ayurvedic medicines and lifestyle care. According to the video his pain reduced significantly, his mobility improved and he regained confidence and comfort, all without surgery. (Based on the video description. Distinct from the Mr. Jeeva asthma case elsewhere in this database.)

B. M. R. Jeeva, Rajapalayam. My problem is cervical myelopathy. As to why it came, one important reason is that I have ridden a two-wheeler for the last 32 years, and the doctors say this problem may have come from that. In this cervical pain, C3 to C7 is the main problem. Because the nerve coming from the brain into the spinal cord at the back of the neck was pressed, the leg nerves below the hip did not get proper blood flow, and I had been struggling and suffering to walk. This has been going on for nearly two months, since February; from the beginning of February the problem had been continuing for me. I had been undergoing this distress for about a month and a half or two months. When I went to see an important doctor of his about what the solution was, they told me to have scan reports taken. After taking them and looking, what it was, was: because the nerve coming from that column behind the back is very compressed, you cannot walk. The only complete solution for this is surgery. They said that unless you compulsorily have surgery you will not get a solution for this. When I consulted a great many people, there were some problems as to whether surgery would give a lasting solution to this problem. There is even a possibility that you could suffer permanently. There are even some chances of your becoming bedridden again. So think about it carefully before doing it, they said. At times like this I enquired in Kerala, Chennai, and several other places in Tamil Nadu, and while I was thinking of taking this Ayurvedic treatment, an important friend of mine told me that three or four years ago he had admitted his wife to this AVN Arogya Ayurvedic Hospital in Madurai, and that she stayed ten days and with the treatment given she healed well by about 60 or 70 per cent, and that now she has healed by about 90 per cent. On the basis of the confidence he gave, I joined onthe seventh, and today it has been 14 days. Most likely tomorrow I will be finishing the treatment and there is a situation where I must go home. Now what is important in this is that, as far as this hospital is concerned, the method of treatment they give is a most exalted method of treatment. That is, many who know Ayurveda will know there is much of this kind — Shiro Vasti, Nasyam, heating the oil and applying it to the body and giving fomentation, enema, and much of this kind, and besides that they give many pieces of advice related to physical exercise. Since I came I see a reasonably good improvement, a difference. When I saw and spoke today with the respected Mrs. Sridevi, who is the director of this hospital and its senior physician, the evidence-based points she gave were these: she explained with evidence and in detail the improvements that had occurred in me from the time I joined until today. Looking at that, I have a good improvement. Further, what she has said is that the damage that has occurred to you is very severe. If you stay at home for another month, with all the medicines and tablets for it, and follow all the treatment methods we tell you, then when you come again you will have a further good improvement. That is what she has said. On that basis I expect that improvement further. I have a good confidence. I expect that gradual improvement to come more and more. This AVN hospital that gave this good treatment, the medical team, the nurses and all the other staff who look after people here all work with great responsibility and discipline. I take my leave. Thank you and greetings.
