About Uttaravasti
Uttara Vasti is a specialised Ayurvedic gynaecological procedure where a small quantity of medicated oil or decoction is administered directly into the uterine cavity. Used selectively in chronic gynaecological conditions, infertility, and certain menstrual disorders — always by an experienced woman physician.
When Uttaravasti may — and may not — be appropriate
May be appropriate for
- Selected presentations of female infertility
- Chronic menstrual disorders unresponsive to conventional treatment
- Certain endometriosis presentations
- Post-treatment reproductive tract rehabilitation
When it should NOT be done
- Active pelvic infection
- Pregnancy
- Acute menstruation phase
- Certain structural pathologies requiring surgery first
The decision is always individualised by your treating physician.
What to Expect During Uttaravasti
