Ear discharge, or otorrhoea, is any fluid that comes out of the ear. It may be clear, yellow, bloody, or foul-smelling, and usually indicates an infection or injury to the ear. Common causes include middle ear infection (otitis media) with perforation, outer ear infection (otitis externa) and cholesteatoma.
