Urticaria (chronic hives)
Mrs. Saraswathi had suffered for several years from urticaria - recurring itchy rashes, hives and skin irritation - with medications giving only temporary relief before symptoms returned. My name is K. Saraswathi. I have come from Thiruvarur station, from Tiruchirappalli. On my hand there were rashes like this, spots all over, and it looked rather bad. I took allopathic treatment; I was seen in Karaikal. Then I was seen in Kumbakonam, in allopathy. But they gave me a lot of Ayurvedic and I took tablets and all of it. Nothing at all cured me. All right, they said that today it will only heal properly if I take a steroid. I did not take it. Then Dr. Ramesh from AVN used to come to Chennai. I work there in Chennai. From December they had been giving me tablets. After taking them it was rather well cured for me. Now, having heard that they have it here at AVN, sir told me to come here, and I came here of my own wish. Everyone said, if you go to AVN they will see to it very well, and if you go there it will be well cured for you. All right, I said, and here in Madurai I am at AVN Arogya Hospital. I have now been here about 10 days. I am very satisfied. It has become very good for me. It is hardly visible at all on my hands now. The mark is only faint. They said that too will come right as time goes on. All the treatment given to me here was very good for me too. All the doctors moved about very kindly, the nurses and doctors. Otherwise the therapists, the people who give the therapy, all did it very kindly. That is, I did not even have an attender; I was alone. I was very satisfied. I am content and happy. It has become well for me. At first I had had this for 1 year and was in a feeling of whether it would ever come right for me or not. Now it has been well cured. They said that in a little while only the mark will remain and that will come right too. Our doctor Malavika moved about very kindly. She gave good treatment. All the nurses too. I troubled nobody at all and everything is satisfying. Here they gave me an oil massage twice, morning and evening.Then, when they applied the oil and massaged me all over, it was truly hard for me when they did it. They gave such a good massage that their hands must have ached. Generally, apart from the hand, I have slight back pain and hip pain. They gave me a superb massage for all of it. And then they gave a milk fomentation and that sort of thing. I was very satisfied. In this we are not afraid to take the medicine. Good tablets; the tablets were mainly what I took. All of it was very satisfying for me. From the housekeeping onwards, everything here was good.
