My name is N. Jeyakumar. I come from a place called Madakulam near the Madurai bypass road. I have had knee pain for the past 25 years. For that I took many kinds of English medicine — I took so many allopathic medicines that my stomach became covered in ulcers. So beyond a certain stage it became very difficult for me to walk. A situation arose where I was taking painkillers daily for the pain. Then I heard from relatives of mine who were being treated here. I came to the Arogya medical centre here at Vilachery, Madurai, and here I met Dr. Sridevi and told her my body's condition and my other complaints. She listened to all of it and said it would be good for me to stay here and take treatment. After that, on the 18th of March 2018, they admitted me. The treatments were morning and evening — this massage, the fomentation, and massages according to their Ayurvedic method, rubbing in oil, treatments of that kind. The therapists came morning and evening and carried out the treatments. That was very good. Because I had taken so many English medicines, for the first two or three days it gave a little pain. Then it reduced step by step. At each hour the nurses came — morning, noon, evening, night, at all hours — and gave the tablets and medicines before food and after food, and gave me good treatment and medicines. It was very good. Their treatment and hospitality were very good. Likewise the food came on time. They gave food suited to my treatment. That was good and nice. Before the treatment I had great difficulty walking. My left leg, right shoulder, left knee — both were very painful for walking, and when I walked a little there would be a grinding noise in the joint. Now it has become somewhat normal and the pain has reduced. They also did physiotherapy and that made it much better. They said the discharge was to be arranged, and so they discharged me today. They havegiven me all the medicines for it. They said they have given medicines for a month. If there is any problem in between, they told me to come to the doctor. Their treatments, this Ayurvedic treatment, are very good for me. The surroundings here, the natural surroundings, and being able to walk about and go walking here — all of it is good.
