My name is Christy Maheswaran. I work as a teacher. I came to this hospital for back pain; I am from Ramnad. This back pain was severe. It had been there for more than 20 years. I first took treatment then. With all of that it came back again. The pain was severe for about 10 years. I saw every kind of doctor — I saw a neurologist, I saw an orthopaedic, and I tried a great many treatments again. I had a lot of massage done, but there was no satisfaction of any kind. But a friend of mine said, instead of going here and there all over the place, there is a place in Madurai itself where they have Kerala treatment, Ayurveda, they give good massage and all of it is good. So I thought I would come, and I came. Then I saw the senior doctor, Rama Warrier sir. I liked his approach very much. It was like patting a child, like patting his own daughter and treating her — with a nice smiling face. I liked his treatment and his whole approach very much. Now, when it comes to a doctor, it is their approach that means that even if their illnesses are severe, more than half of it feels as though the illness has lifted. More than taking medicine, it is how they handle us. So Warrier sir spoke in such a way that on the very first day half the illness in the body felt like that. Then they said I would need an oil massage. Because I work at a school, with the annual and half-yearly exams coming, they had said I would need to stay one week continuously. I could not come. So I said I would do it during the annual leave, in the vacation. Then, when I came last time, they gave the medicine and I booked a room and went back. When I came again for the treatment, because I am a lady and sir was somewhat older, they recommended a lady, Sridevi ma'am. She took over the treatment again. She too, with a smiling face, kept smiling and saying it will all come right, we can do it well, it will heal —the very way she spoke made me feel somehow healed. Next came the junior doctor, Siji ma'am. Meena ma'am came. All of them were like a family member rather than a doctor; the way they spoke I liked very much, their whole approach. Next we went for physiotherapy. They did oil massage in the morning and oil massage in the evening. The way they did it made me very happy. This is work that can only be done if it is done wholeheartedly. Otherwise it cannot be done. To that extent they were very kind, and the treatment they gave me beautifully — for the first two days it felt a certain way. On the first day it felt odd. Everything is the same, I thought. That very evening, at the second treatment, I was fully satisfied. All right, we must have come to a good place. So we will recover well. But they had told me to stay about 10 days. Because of the family situation I could not, so I left in seven days. Even so I am going with the satisfaction of having recovered about 90%. I said I would go and come back for another week. Next, oil massage in the morning and in the evening; they give a full oil massage. Because the medicines they give are fully Ayurvedic, no side effects of any kind will come — with that confidence one can come into this treatment. Next they do physio. The physio too was a good satisfaction for me. It was different. I wondered myself what these people were doing. But after the physio I felt a good satisfaction. I could see the improvement. The other doctors and the staff and the nurses who bring the medicine — everyone's approach was good. They came daily to ask about our satisfactions and complaints. That was very good for me. Next the room, the house cleaning — all of it, I am taking the treatment in full satisfaction.
