Immunomodulation is the process of adjusting how active the immune system is. It may mean calming an overactive immune response, as in autoimmune diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, or supporting a weakened one. Modern medicine does this with specific drugs, while Ayurveda uses detoxifying Panchakarma therapies and herbs such as Guduchi, also called Giloy, with the aim of restoring balance.
