diagnosticDAS28, the Disease Activity Score using 28 joints, is a clinical measure of how active rheumatoid arthritis is. The doctor counts tender and swollen joints among 28 in the hands, arms and knees, then combines this with a blood marker such as ESR or CRP and the patient's own rating. A score below 2.6 indicates remission.
